Founded in 1959, the Postage Stamp Printing Bureau in Beijing is directly affiliated to China Post Group and specializes in the design, R&D and production of postage stamps. It has formed an industrial chain featuring sophisticated anti-counterfeiting technology, and integration of originality, planning, design, technology research and development, printing and processing and value-added services. It is QOHSE (quality, occupational health, safety and environment) certified and has qualifications in national secret carrier duplication and confidential security notes printing as well as other printing qualifications. It is among the first group of enterprises to win the “National Demonstration Enterprise in Printing and Copying” award and is renowned both at home and abroad for its security printing services.
The Bureau has diverse advanced equipment and unique capability in multi-color photogravure printing, intaglio printing, off-set printing, combined intaglio and off-set printing and others as well as complete post-press capabilities. It has a strong design team with over 20 full-time stamp designers, more than 10 professional computer graphics designers and over 100 outstanding part-time designers, forming a unique advantage in terms of “culture + anti-counterfeiting”.
The Bureau paid more attention to quality and the application of new technologies and techniques. Many important stamps were printed, including Jia-Wu Year (Chinese traditional method of chronology, as the year of 2014), The 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and France, Birds of Prey (Ⅱ), The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven, Yangtze River, Chinese Dream — National Rejuvenation, and Yuanqu (poetry of the Yuan Dynasty).
